Today’s quote of the day has a few things to say about boundaries.
Saying no does not mean someone will like you any less. Real friends know when to respect your boundaries. If they don’t? Well, they are likely not true friends.
Learning to say “no” when I wanted to say “no” was freeing. It is stll something I struggle with, but telling people “no” when I do not want to perform a task, a favor, or a request was absolutely freeing. My anxiety went down considerably and I stopped worrying whether they will be mad.
It isn’t your job to perform for the happiness of others. There is nothing wrong with helping, caring, or doing. Just don’t feel like you’re obligated when you really don’t wish to help.
Let’s talk about it! Find me over on Threads as angelajshupe and tell me about your “no” experiences! Do they help you feel empowered in your needs?
